What is money laundering?
Jul 12th, 2007 by Granny
I am turning sixty.
I’ve got pains even where I don’t have windows.
Yet I don’t know what money laundering is about.
Would it be like when I’ve put on awash and dry cycle, packed full, and I’m sorting the laundry and I find a 20 Euro note [or, if I'm lucky, a 50 Euro note] in Grandad’s jeans pocket?
He’s getting forgetful, so it happens a lot. Bless!
If I decide to keep it, is that money laundering?
Can they lock me up for it?
Don’t tell him.
Keep it with your running away money!
Mum’s the word
hi granny. i followed you in from flirtys website. i keep my “laundry money” with my “back of the sofa money” teehee.
Why don’t we all pool our resources and run away together into the setting sun?
ok. i’ll bring my €1.17c!! see you there in ten mins
Money-laundering flows exceed $1 trillion per year, forty-one US banks out of 224, said they were unable to track cross-border transactions, the cost of compliance with anti-money-laundering (AML) requirements has risen by nearly 60 percent since 2004 – that’s 20 percent more than banks had expected, the probability of conviction for money-laundering in the U.S. is at 6.5 percent.
Don’t you worry about a thing Granny, you are in the clear!
